On a different subject, at the September 15th Chapter meeting, the Trust will be here to give us information on the upcoming 2027 changes in our healthcare.

Next year’s White Shirt Day (2/11/2027) will be held at Local 659. It will be the 90th Anniversary of the recognition of the UAW as the bargaining agent for the workers. In honor of this special occasion, the Retirees Executive Boards of Areawide/Local 651 & 659 are selling USA/Union-Made, long-sleeve, white polo shirt with a commemorative coin depicting the Sit-Downers dates of fighting for Recognition and Victory. On the upcoming flyer will be a QR code. Please scan it with your phone to get to the website to get all the information on how to order your shirt and coin.

On the last note, the entire Chapter, along with the Executive Board and I, would like to thank Joe Couturier for all the work and positions he has held over the years in our Retirees Chapter. Joe, you have been a great mentor and a patient teacher, helping me in running this great Chapter and keeping the memory alive of The Home of the Sit-Downers… Thank You!
