Kids’ santa party
On December 7, 2025, we welcomed children from our Members’ families and the community into the Local for our annual Kids’ Santa Party. The day was filled with holiday joy as little ones enjoyed photos with Santa, a Christmas movie, cookie-decorating fun, and plenty of refreshments and snacks. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this festive tradition so special!

Solidarity Walk
On December 6, 2025, several UAW Local 659 Members and Officers joined the Henry Ford Nurses of Teamsters 332 on their picket line in a show of solidarity. These dedicated nurses have been on strike for more than 90 days, continuing their fight with strength and determination. Our Local has also supported their efforts by donating firewood and hand and foot warmers to help keep them comfortable during the long hours on the line. We are proud to stand with them as they continue advocating for fair treatment and safe working conditions.

Old Newsboys Paper Sales
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who came out for the annual Old Newsboys Paper Sale on December 5, 2025! Each year, funds raised help support the Old Newsboys of Flint in their mission to ensure “No Child Is Left Behind.” Our members bundled up, hit the streets, and helped collect donations from our generous community. We’re grateful for everyone who volunteered their time — and everyone who donated to support this important local tradition!

ccA BOWLING FOR A CAUSE
We had a fantastic time participating in the annual CCA Bowling for a Cause event on November 23, 2025! Local 659 members and their families teamed up for an evening of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit — all while supporting a meaningful cause, The Old Newsboys of Flint. Thank you to everyone who came out, bowled, cheered, and helped make the event a success. We’re proud to be part of such a supportive and engaged community!

Retiree Thanksgiving Dinners
Our annual Retiree Thanksgiving Dinners were held on Tuesday, November 11, and Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and it was a joy to welcome so many of our retirees back to the hall. Thank you to everyone who attended—and a special thank you to the volunteers who helped prepare, serve, and make these dinners such a warm and memorable tradition for our Local 659 family.

2025 Trunk or treat
Our 2025 Trunk-or-Treat was an incredible success, with over 20 decorated vehicles, a live DJ, and an amazing turnout from our community! Families enjoyed a fun and festive evening filled with creativity, candy, and plenty of spooky (and adorable) costumes.
Thank you to everyone who participated, decorated a trunk, volunteered, or attended — events like this are some of our favorites, and we love seeing the joy it brings to our community every year. We can’t wait to do it again in 2026! 🎃👻

2025 Tigers game
On September 7, 2025, 80 of our members hopped on buses provided by the Local to cheer on the Detroit Tigers as they took on the Chicago White Sox! It was an incredible day filled with camaraderie, laughter, and plenty of ballpark fun. From the bus ride to the final pitch, our members enjoyed the chance to connect, relax, and share in the excitement of the game.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us—we can’t wait to continue this tradition and make next year’s trip even bigger!

NAETC golf scramble

Proceeds from this event help to ensure that “No Child is Forgotten” this holiday season, through their Christmas Box Program and Coat & Shoe Initiative outreach efforts, that have served more than 850,000 children since 1924.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support this important cause. Your generosity and participation help make a meaningful difference in the lives of children throughout our community.
