Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

The Shop Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in our annual Old Newsboys Golf Outing on Sunday, October 5th. The weather was perfect, and everyone seemed to have a good time. This year, we had 17 teams that entered, and we raised $6,200 for Old Newsboys.

A special appreciation goes out to our volunteers. Without them, this event would not be a success. A special thanks also goes out to all our SPO/CCA Retirees who showed up and golfed. It’s good to see them again and their continued participation. Perry, thanks for not hitting me this year.

The Shop Committee would like to welcome the Transfers to CCA Flint and welcome the Temps back home.

Plan Ahead – Miller Road at the railroad tracks in front of the GMCCA plant will be closed for maintenance and improvements from October 27, to November 8, 2025.

Daylight Savings Time will end on November 2nd this year at 2:00 a.m.

Pinktober is here! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and every Thursday during October is a “wear pink” day. If anyone wears pink on these days, they will get a free ticket for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was on October 11, 2025 and it was an excellent turnout for CCA Flint.

Why Breast Cancer Awareness Matters

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, affecting millions of lives each year. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Men can also be affected, though it is far less common.

The UAW GM Health an Safety Audit will start at 8:00a.m. on Tuesday, October 14th, and end on October 16th.

There will be three paid holidays next month. November 11th is Veterans day, and the 27th and 28th are Thanksgiving Holidays. Please remember to wear red or a military shirt for those who helped win our freedom, and spend time with friends and family.

CCA Veteran of the Month is Sgt. Tiffany N. Brown Mayer. Tiffany served in the US Army (Reserve) from 2000 to 2012 as a Combat Veteran, Military Occupation Specialty: 92Y/92A.

Halloween will soon he upon us. Please drive safely. If you are out and about on this fun filled evening, watch closely for all the children celebrating.
