Good Afternoon Brothers and Sisters,
The Shop Committee would like to welcome everyone back from the Memorial Day weekend. We hope you had the opportunity to spend quality time with your family and friends while honoring and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
We wish everyone a safe, productive, and successful return to work. Thank you for all that you do each day.
The 39th UAW Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) was held June 15-18, 2026, at Huntington Place in Detroit, and congratulations to those who were elected as delegate. This Convention is an important opportunity for delegates from UAW Locals across the Country to help shape the future direction of our Union through Constitutional amendments, resolutions, and discussions that impact our membership.
This is also a good time to remind everyone to be financially prepared whenever possible. We are not suggesting that anything negative is on the horizon; however, it is always wise to set aside what you can and plan ahead. Being prepared helps protect you and your family from unexpected situations and provides peace of mind should challenges arise.
On June 14th, all newly elected officers and representatives were sworn into office and officially began their terms. Congratulations to everyone who was elected. We appreciate your willingness to serve the membership and wish you success as you take on these important responsibilties.
We would also like to remind everyone that June 19th (Juneteenth) and July 4th (Independence Day) are negotiated holidays. We encourage everyone to enjoy this well-deserved time off with family and friends while staying safe and making lasting memories.
Father’s Day – honoring the men who lead, teach, and love. Father’s Day is a special occasion set aside to honor fathers and father figures for all they do for their families and communities. While Father’s Day is celebrated on different days around the world, in the United States it is observed on the third Sunday of June and became a national holiday in 1972.
Today, take a moment to honor your father, and thank him for the values, guidance, sacrifices, and lessons he has passed down through the years. Whether through words, actions, or simply spending time together, let him know how much he is appreciated.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who make a difference every day.
