Vice President’s Article

Greetings Brothers & Sisters,

It is truly an honor to write my first letter to you as your UAW Local 659 Vice President. I want to be honest with you, I am grateful for this opportunity, and I do not take it lightly. I appreciate the trust you have placed in me, and I want you to know that I am going to do my best to serve you and our membership.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that you were able to spend some quality time with your family and loved ones.

I also want to say what a pleasure it was to see so many of you at our UAW Retiree’s Picnic on June 30. We had a tremendous turnout, and it truly meant a lot to reconnect with retirees I hadn’t seen in years. It was just as rewarding to meet those I hadn’t had the opportunity to know before.

Events like this remind us that the friendships, memories, and bonds we built throughout our years in the UAW don’t end when we retire. Thank you to everyone who came out, shared stories, enjoyed some laughs, and helped make the day so special. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I look forward to seeing you again at our next gathering.

I also want to congratulate all of our members who have signed up for the Special Attrition Program (SAP). As you prepare to begin this new chapter in your lives, I wish each of you nothing but the very best.

When the day comes for your retirement, I hope it brings you good health, happiness, peace of mind, and the opportunity to enjoy the time you’ve earned with your family and loved ones.

Thank you for your years of dedication, hard work, and commitment to our membership and our Union. Best wishes for a long, healthy, and fulfilling retirement. You have earned it.

Our International Executive Board (IEB) elections are coming up, and I want to remind everyone how important these elections are. The IEB is the highest authority in our Union, and these elections affect all of us.

Please make sure your personal contact information is up to date, so you receive you ballot. I don’t want any member to miss the opportunity to have their voice heard.

Get Youth Outdoors Day
I have never seen so many happy children in one place at one time. It was truly great to see all the smiles and excitement from the kids. We had a great turnout, and I want to congratulate and thank everyone who helped put this event together. It was a great day for our children and our community.

Together, we’re building a stronger UAW for every memeber!
