Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

First, I would like to thank everyone who took part in elections. For those who aren’t familiar with me, my name is Shaun Windels, your new Shop Chairman. Recently, we have been working with management on some of the issues at hand. As you could guess, the wheels are still moving show. Well, maybe not slow, but slower than the Bargaining Committee would like. However, we are working hard to get answers to your questions and we look forward to making sure that you are heard and seen.

With all that aside, the plant will be mostly shut down from December 24th to January 26th. Our Local will have folks from Michigan Works down at the hall on December 22nd and 23rd to help you with your needs of filing for unemployment during that time. Make sure to grab a copy of the work waiver from the company before heading down to the Local, or before leaving for the holidays. That way, it excuses you from having to seek work during that time.

Lastly, on behalf of myself and the rest of the Bargaining Committee, we hope that all of you have a safe, healthy, and wonderful time off with your family and friends, and we can’t wait to see you in the new year and all the exciting thins to come.
