Greetings Brothers & Sisters,

I hope everyone is doing well and in good health and spirit.

We’re moving towards the last quarter of the year, and there’s still a lot of work to be done before the year comes to an end. I know that at this point everyone’s attention is focused on the upcoming elections. We have the 2026 UAW International Officer Elections, as well as the Michigan General Election on November 3rd.

The first distribution of the mail-in ballots for the 2026 UAW Int’l Officer Election was expected to go out to eligible members around August 21st.

September 23, 2026 is the final date to request a replacement ballot from the Election Vendor. September 30, 2026 is the deadline for the members to be in “good standing” with their Local Union in order to have their vote counted.

October 5, 2026 is the deadline for ballots to be received by the designated U.S. Postal Service facility. October 6, 2026 Vote tabulation begins.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to make sure your mailing address is current. You can update or submit your mailing address information through your Local Union, or visit myinfo.uaw.org as soon as possible.

Another important date to remember is November 3, 2026 – General Election Day. Local, State, and Federal representatives will be on the ballot.

It is important we make informed decisions about the candidates and issues that will shape the future of our communities and our state. Take the time to learn about the candidates and the issues and consider what best reflects your values and interests before casting your vote on November 3rd.

LIC unit members, please make every effort to attend our unit membership meetings and the Joint Council meetings, so that you can receive as much information as possible.

Monthly meetings resumed on September 13th. If you were unable to attend, we will look forward to seeing you at the next meeting in October.

Please stay informed by checking the Union UAW website and the UAW unit information billboard for meeting dates, times and important updates.

Finally, remember that our CBA is for the duration of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2028. Time is moving quickly and before we know it, we will be preparing for our next round of contract negotiations.

We want to continue doing our best for the membership as we move forward and prepare for a stronger Contract.
