Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

Can you believe it, the Holiday season is already here? The time for giving, sharing, and spending time with family and friends. There’s plenty of activity this time of year.

Let no child be forgotten! To sponsor a child through the Old Newsboys, see a UAW Local 659 tree captain in your respective plant or Donna at the Union Hall. For a $20 donation, each child receives the following items: 1 sweat suit/outfit/pajamas, 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of underwear or 1 onesie, 1 hat and pair of gloves/mittens, dental hygiene products and 1 age-appropriate gift.

Also, the Old Newsboys will be having their annual newspaper sale on December 5, 2025. All proceeds are to help, so no child shall be forgotten.

Our Local 659 Community Service Committee presents The Old Newsboys Toy Drive, November 17 through December 12, 2025. There will be drop boxes in your respective plant or you can drop your donation off a the UAW Local 659 Union Hall. You can drop off toys at the hall until December 15, 2025. Bring your new, unwrapped, American-made toys.

Our Local 659 Recreation and Women’s committees presents a Kids Christmas Party on December 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Union Hall. There will be movies, refreshments, snacks, and a picture with Santa.

UAW Local 659 Community Service Committee will be hosting a food drive from now until January 5, 2026. You can drop off your non-perishable items in the drop box located in your facility or at UAW Local 659. Donations will be given to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

UAW Local 659 will be supporting Teamsters Local 332 on December 6, 2025 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Come out, join UAW Local 659, and walk with the Genesys Henry Ford nurses on Holly Road. Strike snacks are greatly appreciated.
