Greetings Brothers & Sisters,

Hard to believe we are already into August of this year. Seems like the days are really flying by. I hope you all are taking time to enjoy friends and family during these hot summer days and enjoying vacations and making memories with your loved ones.

August is a bittersweet month, where summer is in full swing and you want to enjoy the weather and activities, but at the same time, the kids are heading back to school and college. I know we all work a lot, but take it from me, those babies grow up fast, so make sure you’re taking the time to enjoy them.

Please, check your hours on a weekly basis. There has been a definitely increase in complaints about pay issues. Use the machines or the ring report to make sure your previous week’s hours are correct, and report any issues to your supervisor no later than Monday to ensure your upcoming check is correct.

Ballots for our upcoming International UAW elections will be mailed out later this month, so make sure your personal information on file is correct.

Elections are always a hot-button issue, and bring a lot of passion out of the membership. I know there are many different opinions on the candidates, but nothing speaks louder than your vote.

Shop Committee continues to meet with management, working on issues dealing with securing more work, training, seniority violations, and dual supervision. I know it seems like a never-ending issue, just know we are constantly working to make sure the membership is treated fairly, and with the respect you all deserve.

Finally, I want to thank you all for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to stop us when you see us on the floor, or stop by the Union office and speak with your representative.
