GMCCA Chairman’s Report

By: Tony Redmond

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

The Shop Committee would like to welcome everyone back from their Easter Holiday break. We hope all of you had time to spend the holiday with your family.

Sisters and Brothers, May 11th was Mother’s Day, and all the moms out there are essential assets in this world. They have made this world full of joy, love, and happiness. Nothing in the universe can take their place. I hope all mothers had a Happy Mother’s Day.

The Shop Committee recommends that you check your paystub every week. If you find any discrepancies, please get in touch with the supervisor and/or GM Payroll at 1-866-245-5957.

Once again, many rumors about General Motors are circulating throughout the plant. This Shop Committee has no concrete information to pass on to the membership, but we will continue to share information with you as soon as it becomes available.

Despite the rumors that management spread, we struggle with new work and sales. We must encourage our friends, relatives, and neighbors to buy our original (GM) genuine parts. For a discount, stop at a parts store, like Brown and Son, or call GM Parts Purchase at 1-855-462-2737. You will need your VIN #.

Now that vacation season is upon us, please be considerate of your fellow UAW family members. If you will not use or take your approved vacation time off, tell your supervisor that you wish to cancel it so that other employees can move up on the waiting list.

Our UAW CCA family would like to send all our prayers, thoughts and love to Tammy Byrtus and their family (Mr. & Mrs. Claus).

Under the terms of Paragraphs 202b and 202c of the National Agreement, the Plant Vacation Shutdown will be from Monday, June 30, 2025, through Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Currently, the ELPO Paint System is the only Flint PC operation scheduled to be shut down. All other areas will be working during this period.

In addition, management at the GMCCA Flint PC is electing to schedule overtime operations under Plan A of the Memorandum of understanding on Overtime for the 2025 calendar year.

On April 29, 2025, General Motors announced that GM North America made $3.3 billion in Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) for the first Quarter of 2025. This profit does not happen without the hard work and dedication from you, the UAW.

The Shop Committee would like to wish all our Brothers and Sisters a safe Memorial Day weekend. Make sure to spend time with family and friends and utilize the Holiday Weekend to its fullest.
