GMCCA Chairman’s Report

By: Tony Redmond

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

Once again, social media has reared its ugly head at the plant. Please think before you post. Management and their investigators are watching very closely! Be very careful who you mark as friends.

The Shop Committee would like to thank our UAW CCA Women’s Committee, Kendra King and Shirley Davis, for their very successful Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. They raised $5,708.54.

Please encourage your loved ones to get regular checkups.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Breast Cancer Walk and the Giveaway Drawings. Jene Lawton and Rustie Canja won the best all-pink costume, and Michele Gregory won the Best Pumpkin.

The annual Old Newsboys campaign kickoff was held Thursday, November 7, 2024. Since 1924, Old Newsboys has made a difference in over 848,000 lives of children throughout Genesee County. The 100-year annual paper sale will be held December 13th. Please remember Let No Child Be Forgotten!

Veterans Day was November 11th, and Jim Todd had a few things lined up for the month. There were popcorn sales every Wednesday, and on November 21st, there was a hot dog sale. Please remember our Veterans, say thank you to them, and give them a handshake from the heart. They have given so much to our country.

As we continue to ask management to convert our temp workers into permanent UAW employees, it’s becoming even more apparent that we need them.

Please understand your employee’s request for Family/Medical Leave, and pay attention to your frequency of absence for the condition. Contact Sedgwick at….
