Good Afternoon Brothers and Sisters,
I hope all our Mothers had a truly beautiful Mother’s Day. Mothers are an essential part of this world, bringing love, joy, and warmth into every life they touch. There is nothing in this universe that can ever replace the role a mother plays.
Thank you, dear moms, for your unconditional love, your sacrifices, and your endless devotion. You are a true blessing – one that is passed down through generations.
Congrats to the members eligible for the SAP, and a special congrats to the ones who will take it.
Now that vacation season is upon us, please be considerate of your fellow workers. If you do not plan to use your approved cation time, notify your supervisor as soon as possible, so that it can be released and made available to other UAW employees waiting.
Training remains a serious issue. If you want to be trained on any additional jobs, notify your supervisor immediately.
The Agreement clearly states that both parties agreed to provide cross-training for employees who requested it. Management has failed to uphold this commitment and is now using that failure against employees when canvassing for overtime.
This is unacceptable. We will not allow Management to benefit from their failure to comply with the Agreement. It is time to hold them accountable and demand that they meet their obligations.
We have to stay alert and recognize that management is finding ways to extract information from our Union that can be used to give some members time off, while leaving others behind. That’s not accidental. It creates division and pits us against one another.
Before speaking, think carefully about how your words and actions affect the whole membership. What may seem small can be used in bigger ways. We are responsible for protecting each other, not unintentionally helping Management weaken our Unity.
At the end of the day, we are all our Brother’s Keeper.
