Greetings Brothers and Sisters, and Merry Christmas!
The Shop Committee would like to welcome everyone back from the Thanksgiving Holiday. We hope everyone had time to spend with their loved ones, even via Facetime, Zoom, or just a phone call.
Management had a “State of the Business” meeting recently and shared the projects completed in 2024 with the UAW – the roof in Plant 1, replacing gate 4 parking lot, new charging corral, fork trucks and hot water generators. The cost was over $6.5 million.
CCA is short of two skilled trades members, and the posting should be done this week. Congratulations to the members who have taken the SAP this year and those who signed up this year. Good luck to you all.
Two of our UAW brothers passed this year, and our prayers go out to both their families- Brother Fred Daves and Brother Solomon Outlaw.
The Shop Committee continues on our quest to procure work for our facility. We will be discussing their commitment to bringing in new work with management. This would not have been possible without your hard work and dedication to our facility. We appreciate everyone’s help with work ideals that must be in CCA Flint. More details will come soon.
The Shop Committee, our appointed UAW representatives, and the Local Executive Board would like to wish our members and Retirees a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Please drive safely and be safe in all that you do during the holidays.
We would also like to wish our Regional Director, Steve Dawes, and his staff, along with our Local 659 President Alex Ortiz, the officers, and their staff, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Enjoy the holidays from all of us at CCA Flint.
“Wishing all of our UAW Local 659 Family a Happy Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year!”
